Wall Surfaces (27 stops – Bari)

David Tremlett’s mural , curated by Luca Cipelletti and realized as part of the redevelopment of the Monumental Complex of Santa Chiara and San Francesco della Scarpa, is dedicated to gallerist Marilena Bonomo, an important international figure promoting contemporary art in Bari, who died in 2014. The students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari collaborated to the execution of the mural. Wall Surfaces (27 stops – Bari) is based on the research on the relationship between sign and architecture that characterizes Tremlett’s approach. Each of the elements of Wall Surfaces (27 stops – Bari) represents one of his twenty-seven trips to Bari, which he visited between 1971 and 2009, often on the occasion of his exhibitions at Bonomo gallery.
