The Venue

Collezione Panza has its roots in the 1950s, when the count Giuseppe Panza started to collect American artworks of the 20th century, inspired by themes of light and color. Among these, the site specific works of the galleria di arte ambientale are worth to be mentioned, coexisting in harmony with the Renaissance halls of the villa. The collections of African and pre-Columbian art are also notable.
Villa Panza, donated to the FAI in 1996 by Giuseppe and Giovanna Panza from Biumo, is an eighteenth-century villa, located on the hill of Biumo, in Varese, where the Collection is housed. It is also home to exhibitions and educational activities.
