School of Verticality, Capitolo 1: La tessitura delle biografie di un orto

La tessitura delle biografie di un orto is part of a larger project that involved the artist Sophie Krier for a year. Krier was invited by Lungomare, a curatorial collective that annually promotes long-lasting participated projects reflecting the specificities of Bolzano, a border city where different cultures meet.
A vertical loom, created in dialogue with the Associazione Donne Nissà , Giardino Semirurali Garten and Akrat, was used to collectively weave a carpet dedicated to the stories and memories of the common vegetable garden. The loom remained in situ as a permanent installation available to the community garden for meetings and initiatives. The weather and the vegetation will transform it in the years to come.
