Il Luogo

Parco di Villa Glori was founded in 1924 under the name of Parco della Rimembranza, originally dedicated to the fallen soldiers of World War I and to the victims of war events in general. In 1997, thanks to the project Varcare la Soglia proposed by the City of Rome, several works made by famous international artists, such as Maria Dompè and Jannis Kounellis, were installed in the park.
The project Varcare la Soglia has been created as a way to experiment the integration between art and nature, in a public space dedicated to rest and recreation.
In 2000, Parco di Villa Glori received two more installations: Porta del Sole made by Giuseppe Uncini, and Uomo-Erba by Paolo Canevari.
