Nuovi Committenti – Mirafiori Nord

Developed as part of the French program Nouveaux Commmanditaires, the project Nuovi committenti has been implemented in Italy by the curatorial platform a.titolo since 2001. The program fosters the participation of the citizens in commissioning public art works with the aim of enhancing their living and working environment. In the district Mirafiori Nord in Turin, the artists have been invited to redefine the space and imagery of the area as industrial city, taking cue from the proposals of its inhabitants. The eighteenth-century chapel closed for years, has been transformed into a education space for schools, and two installations, a garden and a sculpture, have been imagined as meeting places for the community.
