In 2006, Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte decided to add a contemporary art section to its historical collection, to include works by Italian and foreign artists as well. The first part of this section dates back to the late Seventies, when the Museum decided to host its first contemporary art exhibitions.
The Museo di Capodimonte also organizes educational activities on contemporary art, such as laboratories for adults and children.
