Il Luogo

In 2005, the Borgo medievale di Etroubles became an open-air museum and the exhibition À Étroubles, avant toi sont passés… became permanent, thanks to the collaboration of the Fondation Pierre Gianadda di Martigny and the support of the European Social Fund. The exhibition, inaugurated on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Napoleon‘s arrival in the city, includes 22 works, such as sculptures, installations and paintings by contemporary artists, inspired by the stories of the people who visited this village, not far from the Great St Bernard Pass, over time. Furthermore, since 2007, the village of Etroubles has been hosting exhibitions on modern and contemporary artists during the summer months.
