MART – Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, founded in 1987, is perceived as a cultural pole rather than a traditional museum.
It owns and displays a rich collection of works from the 1800s to today, where international artists are included. The MART collaborates with Italian and foreign institutions, with loans and exchanges, which facilitate the organization of exhibitions of European importance as well.
The MART also organizes projects and laboratories, and hosts artists and curators, always striving to encourage comparisons between the leading exponents of contemporary art.
