Giardino dei Sonagli

This sound sculpture was created as part of Terzo Paradiso, a project by Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto, curated by Simona Mazzitelli in collaboration with the agricultural startup Mulinum in Calabria, aimed at promoting the territory and its productions – such as the cultivation of ancient grains – through the language of art and culture. Yuval Avital’s installation consists of three hundred and sixty bells of different origin and size supported by metal spikes that generate a sound when the wind blows. This participatory and collective work is realized with the contribution of those who, responding to the “call for bells”, donated a rattle to represent intercultural encounter as a plurality of voices.
