The Fondazione Milena Milani, located inside the seventeenth-century Palazzo Gavotti, was founded by the namesake artist, who wanted to pay tribute to the memory of her life partner, the art critic and gallerist Carlo Cardazzo. In her hometown, she wanted to create an institution providing a complete picture of 20th century art.
The Collezione Milena Milani, boasting names such as Alexander Calder, Filippo de Pisis and Lucio Fontana, is entirely available to the public and represents a notable selection of the most important movements of contemporary art.
The Museo d’Arte di Palazzo Gavotti is also home to the Pinacoteca Civica del Comune di Savona.
