The Venue
Piccolo Museion, also known as the Cubo Garutti, was conceived on the occasion of the project Arte sul territorio curated by Museion – museo d’arte moderna e contemporanea di Bolzano. Invited to propose a work for the suburban neighborhood Don Bosco, the artist proposed to open there a branch of the museum of contemporary art: a pavilion that would host, on a regular basis, works from the collection of Museion. The small structure is not accessible, it is a showcase within a green area. At night, a sensor activates a lighting system, in order that the works are always visible. The artworks and ad hoc commissioned projects presented in the pavilion, in addition to allow an engagement with an audience that does not otherwise attend the museum, have the poetic role of guardians of the community.
