The Venue
Museo Stauròs di arte sacra contemporanea was founded in 1991, when the Associazione Stauròs moved to the Santuario di San Gabriele.
This Museum is home to about a thousand works of art: paintings, sculptures, ceramic artworks, engravings, watercolours and pictures of sacred art and architecture; many of the works were donated by artists, as in the case of the Donazione Giannetto Fieschi, consisting of all the sacred production of works by the Genoese painter.
Apart from the Biennale d’arte sacra, the Museo Stauròs organizes cultural, scientific and educational events, conventions, publications on contemporary sacred art, personal exhibitions, as well as an improvement course in art for liturgy, dedicated to young artists attending Academies of Fine Arts in Italy.
