The Venue

MU 141 – La vita infinita, is an abstract sculpture, described by the artist as a “work that symbolizes rebirth” and “a positive message to a city that is opening to the world ”.
The work was donated by Fonderia Artistica Battaglia to the Municipal Administration of Milan in the frame of the redevelopment plan of Cimitero Monumentale on the occasion of the 2015 Expo.
Since his participation in 1962 Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, all Azuma’s sculptures take the name MU followed by a number. MU 141 is the artist’s first permanent sculpture in Milan, the city in which the Japanese painter and sculptor has been lived and worked for most of his life and where he studied under Marino Marino at Accademia di Brera, in 1956.
