The Venue
MIC – Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza was founded in 1908, upon the conclusion of the great Esposizione Internazionale dedicated to the scientist Evangelista Torricelli.
The MIC was damaged by a bombing in 1944, but thanks to the effort of the people of Faenza, to national and international collaborations, and to the works of art donated by great artists, it was possible to make it accessible again, so as to promote knowledge about and production of ceramic art.
Since 1932, the MIC has been promoting the Concorso Internazionale della Ceramica d’Arte Contemporanea, which has become a worldwide reference for this form of art.
