The Venue
MAXXI Museo nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo is an Italian museum dedicated to contemporary art and architecture, housed in the fluid building designed by the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid.
The MAXXI owns a collection consisting of: works from contemporary Italian and international artists, a section dedicated to photography and documents relating to modern architecture.
Apart from organizing thematic exhibitions of the collection, where the works are displayed on rotation, the MAXXI also produces and hosts important exhibitions of art, architecture, design and photography, thus increasing the collection itself.
Exhibitions, workshops, conventions, laboratories, shows, screenings, and educational projects are part of the programme of the MAXXI, and characterize the latter not only as a place where such a heritage is stored and displayed, but also as a laboratory of experimentation, cultural innovation, study and research.
