The Venue
Made in Cloister was founded in 2011 after the renovation of the sixteenth-century cloister of the Church of Santa Caterina a Formiello, in the old town of Naples. After being first converted into a woolen mill during the 19th century, then into a soap factory, this cloister was completely abandoned until this Foundation decided to convert it again.
Made in Cloister is a contemporary art exhibition area, a place where Neapolitan artists, designers and master craftsmen can experiment new ideas. Thus, the ultimate aim of this Venue is to re-launch craftsmanship traditions, recast in a contemporary light.
