The Venue

The work was conceived in the frame of Dojo, a project curated by Luca Cerizza for the redevelopment of disused spaces in the suburbs of Milan. The light installation consists of two words, Luna / Park, respectively located on two separate yet close buildings in the district of Lambrate via Ventura, a former industrial area now transformed into a hub for the contemporary art scene. The luminous sign was originally the one at entrance of Varesine amusement park in Milan, long since demolished. Patrick Tuttofuoco appropriated it by inserting it symbolically in a neighborhood at risk of the same fate of abandonment. The operation thus creates a link between sign and location, one is the visual translation of the other: the retrieved and functioning sign celebrates the renewal of the city that is committed to giving new life to its neighborhoods.
