The Venue

The egg-shaped sculpture, located at the beginning of the northern promenade of San Benedetto del Tronto, is composed of eight words that adapt and recontextualize two verses of poet Dino Campana‘s Canti Orfici (1913). The words, that appear in capital letters and are painted in different shades of blue, are arranged in six lines on a red structure. According to the explanation offered by the artist himself and engraved on a plate placed on the monument, the work criticizes the negative aspects of work, such as greed, envy and desire, which prevent us from enjoying the mostsimple aspects of life. Together with Bambini della Guerra (piazza Bambini del Mondo, 1993) and Allegro (viale Secondo Moretti, 1999), this work is one of the three permanent works of the Piedmontese artist in town.
