The Venue
Since 1947, Istituto Svizzero di Roma has been housed in the Villa Maraini, thanks to the donation made by the countess Maraini-Sommaruga to Swiss Confederation, with the purpose of always being at the service of culture, in the spirit of the partnership between Switzerland and Italy.
The Istituto Svizzero is a centre for multidisciplinary research, where scientific and artistic research are intertwined. This Institution organizes artists’ residencies. The Institution offers a rich programme of exhibitions aiming to promote contemporary art in Switzerland – especially the works of young talents – in the interior and exterior spaces of the Villa Maraini.
