The Venue
GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino boasts over 150 years of history since the opening of the Museo Civico di Torino in 1863, which was the first Italian public modern art collection.
In 1959, the GAM Torino obtained a new location containing an extraordinary collection including more than 45,000 works of art documenting Art history in Italy between the 19th and the 20th century as well as the first Italian museal collection of video art. In 2009, the chronological tour was replaced by a thematic tour allowing visitors to discover new perspectives on contemporary art.
