The Venue
Ca’ Pesaro – Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna di Venezia is home to the municipal modern art collection which began to take shape in 1897, on occasion of the second edition of the Venice Biennale, and was finally opened to the public in 1902.
The Ca’ Pesaro now owns a notable collection, which has expanded over time, thanks to prestigious donations, such as the Sonnabend collection, and to precise acquisition policies, especially connected to the Venice Biennale and focused on national and European contemporary art. Apart from displaying its permanent collection, the Gallery can also offer the public a rich programme of exhibitions and events.
