The Venue
The British School at Rome was founded in 1901 and, since 1912 has been housed in the British Pavillion, an architectural work designed by Edwin Lutyens on the occasion of the Esposizione Internazionale di Roma in 1911, in Valle Giulia.
The British School at Rome is a centre for multidisciplinary research, mainly operating in the fields of art, architecture, Mediterranean history and culture.
Apart from organizing residencies for scholars and researchers from the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries, the Institution proposes a rich calendar of events, meetings, conferences and exhibitions, on contemporary art as well.
