The Venue

-14.86, is site-specific sound installation realized, with the patronage of the Municipality of Viterbo and curated by Marco Trulli and Claudio Zecchi, by A12, a collective of architects founded in Genoa in 1993. The group focuses on urban space transformations and socio-cultural environment in artistic and architectural practice. The Urcionio is a river of Viterbo, which for centuries represented a resource for the city and was an element of identity for the inhabitants of the area. In post war years it was buried and today runs underground. The title refers to the depth of the river in the exact point where the sound system that records the sound of the water is installed. The work creates a sound intrusion in the cityscape and evokes the presence of the disappeared river.
