The Venue
The Castromediano Museum, which has started the creation of a contemporary art section, is located in the historic center of the capital of Salento and is primarily an archaeological museum, featuring prehistoric artifacts from the Salento region as well as a gallery of medieval and modern art. Additionally, the museum has recently embraced new contemporary art forms with a section dedicated to contemporary art, showcasing, among others, works by Michelangelo Pistoletto, Nico Angiuli, and Paolo Gioli. The museum regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions by Italian and international artists and is particularly committed to projects that blend different languages and genres, with a special focus on the relationship between the ancient and the contemporary.
