The Venue
The Marino Marini Museum, inaugurated in 1988, is located in the former church of San Pancrazio, in the historic center of Florence. It was born from the dual desire of the Florentine administration to restore the ancient church, dedicating it to cultural activities, and to find an adequate home for the rich collection of the Pistoia artist, donated to the Tuscan capital. The museum, structured on four levels, preserves one hundred and eighty-three works by Marino Marini (sculptures, paintings, drawings, engravings, etc. executed from 1916 to 1977 and arranged according to a thematic criterion). We also organize exhibition activities, projects for students and workshops for adults and children. The Marino Marini Museum is therefore configured as a place where modern and contemporary art combine perfectly, in a constructive and stimulating dialogue.
