The Venue

The Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo di Palazzo Fabroni has been home to the permanent collection of modern and contemporary art of the City of Pistoia since 1997. Located inside the 18th-century palace of the noble Fabroni family, the museum exhibits works outlining an itinerary on art from the 1920s to the present, with exponents of Arte Povera, Conceptual Art, Minimal Art and Visual Poetry. Palazzo Fabroni dedicates the rooms on the second floor to temporary exhibitions. Many artists, who have participated in solo or thematic exhibitions over the years, have subsequently donated works to the municipality, thus enriching the collection, which also consists of acquisitions and the original civic funds.
