The Venue
The urban dimension, in the sense of space but also as form of living in a place as a community, is an important aspect in the work of Alfredo Pirri. All’imbrunire, curated by Paola Tognon for the Museo della Città – Luogo Pio Arte Contemporanea, is an installation composed of two elements: a bamboo garden, which will grow in the years to come releasing oxygen into the environment, and a dismissed street lamp from Piazza Mascagni, which instead of the original lantern bears on its top a sphere of frosted glass plexiglass, a material that refracts light and complicates vision, and that resembles a marble. For the artist, light is an equivalent of color in the construction of space that is always in progress, just as the green delimiting the light.
