The Venue
Vivaio Eternot is the winner of the competition conceived by the Municipality of Casale Monferrato to promote the Eternot Park, an area that was formerly occupied by a factory that produced asbestos, which was converted into a public art project in 2016. The park is dedicated to the memory of asbestos victims, and is a symbol of redemption for the community. The winning project, based an artist’s residency in Casale curated by ArtinReti platform, was selected for having achieved to express the identity and values of the community through an ecological message. The work is defined by the citizens as a “living monument”, and replaces the asbestos factory with a nursery of Davidia involucrata that grows over time and is cultivated by the citizens.
