The Venue
The work was donated in 2002 by artist Paolo Icaro to the city of Teramo on the occasion of the contemporary art exhibition EXEMPLA 2, arte italiana nella vicenda europea 1960-2000, curated by Bruno Corà. In the frame of the event, the works were installed in public places, describing an itinerary of large-scale projects in dialogue with the city scape. In 2013 the sculpture was moved from piazza San Francesco to its current location, at the exit of Lotto Zero on the Statale 80. The artist himself repositioned the three large white stones to form a door, alluding to the city gate that looks to the Gran Sasso.
