The Venue
Cuore di pietra is a public art project initiated in 2004 by the artist Mili Romano in the frame of the urban redevelopment of the center of Pianoro. The cultural association Cuore di Pietra responded to the traumatic transformation of the cityscape, which included the demolition of many buildings, with a series of contemporary art interventions based on a site-specific and participatory approach. Artists have been invited to interpret public space as a “catalyst of stories and narratives”, creating installations, murals, performances and videos in dialogue with the city and in an interdisciplinary perspective, for fourteen editions of the project.
