The Venue
The historical Palazzo Spini Feroni, in the old town of Florence, has been home to Museo Salvatore Ferragamo since 1938.
Inaugurated in 1995, the museum was born on the initiative of the homonymous family to enhance the artistic qualities of Salvatore Ferragamo and the role he played in the history of shoes and international fashion. The current exhibition venue chooses a different research theme every year, combining the experience of Salvatore Ferragamo and the history of his life and creations with other fields of interest, such as art, architecture, design, economic and social history, as well as philosophy.
As confirmation of the cultural value of the institution and of the various cultural activities that the latter has undertaken over the years, in 1999 Museo Salvatore Ferragamo received the Guggenheim Business and Culture Award.
