The Venue
MAP – Museo Arte Plastica was established in 2004 inside the 14th-century Palazzo dei Castiglioni di Monteruzzo.
This Museum, created out of the passion that Lodovico Castiglioni and Franco Mazzucchelli shared for plastic materials and their aesthetical potential, displays a collection of over fifty works from the Sixties.
Between 1969 and 1973, a centre for artistic experimentation, Polimero Arte, was opened, and led to a collaboration between famous artists, such as Filippo Avalle and Hilda Reich, as well as the technical staff of Mazzucchelli Celluloide, the most important factory in Italy as far as plastics processing is concerned.
The MAP allows the public to observe firsthand the results of this special collaboration through an exhibition route combining contemporary art and historical architecture.
