The Venue
GAMC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Lorenzo Viani is housed in the historical Palazzo delle Muse, in Viareggio, and holds a collection of more than 3,000 works of art of the 20th century.
The GAMC began to operate in 1979, when the city acquired 50 works by Lorenzo Viani, the main exponent of the Italian Expressionism.
The GAMC owns a collection, which has expanded over the years, thanks to important donations. The museum has also a notable number of graphic works, which makes it one of the most important museums specialized in the field.
