The Venue
Rocca di Umbertide – Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea is housed in a 14th-century medieval fortress, restored in the 1980s. It has been used to host cultural activities since then. Today the Rocca is home to a permanent contemporary collection, the main part of which was donated by the painter and gallerist Giovanni Ciangottini.
Apart from hosting temporary exhibitions on the greatest national and international artists, the Rocca di Umbertide also dedicates its programming to the rediscovery of the artistic and cultural history of the city, with exhibitions of ceramic art and on artists who have worked in Umbertide in the past.
