The Venue
MAR – Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna is housed in the cloister of the Abbazia di Santa Maria in Porto, the so-called Loggetta Lombardesca, built during the 16th century under the guidance of Tullio Lombardo.
This Museum displays works of art from the late Middle Ages to modern era, studying both the ancient tecniques and the emerging issues of today’s visual languages.
The MAR contains a specific section on the 20th century, with a particular focus on Informal Art, Pop Art and Analytic Art. The collection of contemporary mosaics is very important as well.
