The Venue
Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive is an eighteenth-century building which has been used as a contemporary art centre since 2000, with a particular focus on international art, as far as the second half of the 20th century and the Novecento Italiano are concerned.
The Palazzo Collicola is divided into four sections: the Collezione Carandente, which includes the works of internationally renowned artists; the second section consists of works acquired by the City through the Premio Spoleto and the Festival dei Due Mondi; then there is the project Nuove acquisizioni, launched in 1989; the last section encompasses donations from artists and collectors. Through the project Collicola on the wall the Museum has also the possibility of commissioniong site specific works to be included in its collection.
The Collezione Carandente includes the works created for the exhibition Sculture nella Città. Spoleto 1962 and that can still be seen today throughout the city.
