The Venue
Fondazione Merz was founded in 2005 by Beatrice Merz, whose aim was to promote research and learning activities about art, through exhibitions, events and educational activities.
This Foundation was authorized to stay in the former thermal power plant Officine Lancia, owned by the City of Turin and which is an interesting example of industrial architecture of the 1930s.
The Foundation alternates between exhibitions dedicated to Mario and Marisa Merz, site specific projects by international artists and exhibitions dedicated to young emerging artists. Particular attention is also payed to the dialogue between the different disciplines connected to contemporary culture.
