The Venue
Il Filatoio di Caraglio is one of the oldest silk factories in Europe, identified as the most notable example of industrial archaeology in Piedmont by the Council of Europe in 1993.
Built between 1676 and 1678, Il Filatoio, after the recycling in the 1930’s, has changed its intended use several times. Since 2002, after a great work of restoration, it has become a center for cultural activities.
Il Filatoio di Caraglio today constitutes the centerpiece of the Piedmont Silk Factory Museum, hosting contemporary art exhibitions on silk and fabric in general.
