The Venue
Museo Tattile Statale Omero has been hosted in the eighteenth century Mole Vanvitelliana since 2012. Here there is not only the collection on display, but also rooms for educational laboratories, conferences and events.
The Museo Omero was established with the aim of fostering access to and use of art by the blind and visually impaired. To this end it showcases more than 200 reproductions (in plaster and resin) of sculptural masterpieces and architectural models from ancient times to Futurism. In the Contemporary Art section visitors can explore a remarkable collection of original sculptures carved and shaped by Italian and international sculptors, whose peculiarity is that they can be read by touch.
